Tomorrow, Wednesday, April 25, a group of State Senators, led by ranking minority member of the Environmental Conservation Committee, Senator Tony Avella, will have the opportunity to go to the Albany public hearing on hydrofracking that they had to petition Committee Chairman Senator Grisanti to get scheduled.
One of those Senators, Liz Krueger of Manhattan, has posted a report from WNYT.com, about how industry chose to not show up when a public hearing was held in Katonah in Westchester recently– sponsored by three of the same State Senators. To quote Senator Krueger:
“if they’ve got nothing to hide why do they never show up to testify in their own defense?,” asked Senator Liz Krueger (D – Manhattan).
Will the industry be in evidence in Albany at the public hearing?
You can be sure that the environmentalists will be there in force, responding to the call for Earth Day lobbying.
